Together with fellow community-focused partners including OAK Services Group and Puwampi Aboriginal Corporation, KADYN is proudly assisting Australian Aboriginal-owned company Buri Building & Design with the development of important new Healing Centre facilities at a Wonnarua Nation Aboriginal Corporation property in the Upper Hunter Region of NSW.
The 24-acre property is situated at 297 Pioneer Road, Wattle Ponds, 7 kilometres north of the town centre of Singleton, where the traditional owners, the Wonnarua people, have occupied the lands for over 30,000 years.
Appointed by Wonnarua Nation Aboriginal Corporation to manage the project, Buri Building & Design has engaged KADYN to not only complete essential works on site, but to also provide more valuable hands-on experience and opportunities for KADYN Youth Mentoring & Development Program apprentices, who will be heavily involved throughout this project.
The KADYN crew are already hard at work on site, building out a new access road to ensure smoother and easier access for all vehicles from Pioneer Road into the new Wonnarua Healing Centre facilities.
Once completed, the new Wonnarua Healing Centre will include 5 accommodation containers, an outdoor kitchen area, male and female bathrooms, disabled access facilities, a yarning circle, firepit, and an overall comfortable place where people can relax and reconnect with nature and themselves in a calm and supportive environment.
